The New Niece

This is Evelyn, my newest niece and possibly the happiest baby I have ever met.
We share the same middle name (Lorraine), I believe we have a special connection.

I wish I had something clever to go along with this image but I don't.

Maybe because it reminds me of youth and the magic that come with being totally enamored 
with something as simple as a pair of sparkly shoes.

I am going to miss the summer

A bit ago some friends and I had a tea party.

After a few minutes of sitting and being pretty the sprinklers came on and there was no way of turning them off... Tea Party Fail.  Nonetheless lemonade was made from lemons when Claire decided to run in the sprinklers like a child and everything was okay.

I am going to miss the Summer.  Don't get me wrong, I love watching the seasons change but I will miss the long days, walking outside at night with no shoes, pretending there is no school in the mornings (even though I no longer am a student, popsicles and ice-cream, sunburns, brown flesh, tank tops, the list goes on for quite a while. 

Dear Universe

Thank you for helping me out all week, you knew exactly what I needed and I can't thank you enough.

Two Cameras

I moved into a new home a few weeks ago, I am still in the process of unpacking and making the space my own.  I unpacked a box with all of my toy camera and I found my first SLR camera, it is a Nikon FM10 35mm film camera.  My mom bought it for me when I was 16.  I haven't shot with it in maybe 5 years until today.  I didn't photograph much but it felt really nice to visit where I started.  I shot with old b&w film I had in the box of toy camera and I look forward to getting it developed.  After shooting with the film camera I pulled out my current camera and photographed similar things.  I want to compare the difference, see how they both feel.

My new bedroom. Max. A blanket my best friend made for me a few years ago the sits at the bottom og my bed. I love my new space.  I will post the b&w scans when I get them done, we can compare.

Travis and Abby are getting married

I photographed my brother and his beautiful fiance Abby in New York a few months ago.  Travis asked me not to post them until the family saw the engagement photos... now that they have I can post them but we will have to wait until tomorrow cause I am sleepy.

Wild Beasts

I guess the story behind the wildebeest is that after God created all of the other animals he was left over with extra parts and then slapped them together to create the beastly creatures they are... The stripes of a zebra, the head of a grasshopper, I don't remember what else belonged to each part, regardless of what is believed I think they were beautiful.
