I am excited for "New York, I Love You" by Jessica Peterson

New York I Love You comes out October 16 (in limited theaters), I am pretty excited about it.
If it is half as good as good as Paris Je Taime (is one of my favorite films) than it will be amazing.   Basically it is a compilation of short stories, all directed by different directors about Love in the city.

Watch the Tailer Here.

and

This is my favorite short from Paris Je Taime, if you know what is good for you, you will watch it  my favorite video... so beautiful.

Day 12: Apples and Fondue by Jessica Peterson

Claire and joined a group of people that were headed upstate to an apple orchard to pick Apples.  It was pretty great, we walked around plucking a variety apples from their trees and tasting each kind, we found the tastiest to be Empire apples.

I think these are the Empire Apples we eating here

And of course... picture time

After fighting with Claire about having pictures of me taken she wins...
I really, really hate having my picture taken... These aren't that bad though! Thanks Claire.

 and enough about that.

Fondue time! We went to a place on 7th called Bourgeois Pig. It was fantastic.

This is Naomi taking a picture of the food with her polaroid camera... gotta love photographers! PS Naomi has a great blog (I am sure you all know of it) but if not check it out here.

Free Hugs!  I passed but Claire went for it.

Another great evening.

Day 11: I've had better. by Jessica Peterson

This morning Claire and I took a bus from DC to New York.  It was a long bus ride, a little too long.

To pass the time I did this
Made a list of my current favorites in my book
Here they are

-Gifts wrapped in brown paper, anything wrapped in brown paper really
-Sleepless nights that are taken advantage of
-Writing my thoughts of phrases really big on paper to make them last
-Friendly bus drivers
-Wearing mustard yellow and orange at the same time
-Songs about the moon
-Reviving dead friendships

Took this from the window
Claire writing in her book... (look it's my pen!)

Pretending to sleep + me texting
So much going on right? Sorry for the lack of photos...

I know this isn't the prettiest photo but I love the sun and I love when it peers over the earth and spills itself into my camera.

In New York:
Tonight I we went to a party, but first we needed to eat.
T sits by himself, Claire and I pretending to have more fun than we are actually having.

Dance moves in the hallway make me the funny girl I am
The party was a bust (sorry)... But we tried.

night.

Someone please visit Max by Jessica Peterson

My roommate sent me a text today informing me that my dog Max looks like he needs Prozac, I can't go home right now to make him happy and I don't want to start him on any drugs at the moment so I need your help friends, if anyone in the area likes dogs and feels like doing something with a dog please let me know, he needs friends, he is lonely.

I am being serious.  Call me if you want to take Max out for frisbee date or a nice walk in the mountains.

Look at his face, he needs you.

Best roommate ever! by Jessica Peterson

So, I am staying with my friends Victor for a few days and he has the worst roommate ever, I know all of you are thinking that you have had the worst roommate ever but no... Victor wins, he wins big time.

This kid is all sorts of weird but what is so sad/funny about all of this is he doesn't know how to use a toilet properly.

Another one of Victors' roommates had to draw a diagrahm of "How to use a toilet", this paper is literally taped to the bathroom wall as we speak...

Something great! by Jessica Peterson

Today I stumbled upon the greatest little book (I love novelty books so, so much), it's called F U, Penguin.  It is so hilarious, it's a book of cute little animals and what we are really thinking about them, not just that they are cute ect... but what people are really thinking. It holds a few potty words but it's worth thumbing through if you get a chance.

I just found a blog on it to

I Love it!

Day 10: Spy museums aren't as great as they sound by Jessica Peterson

Still in DC.  To my surprise me are staying right next to a Potbelly! Oh the joy, I love this place and their amazing toasted subs (it is so sad how much I adore food).  So, we ate lunch at Potbelly's and it was so delightful I am still smiling.

We wanted to do some museums in the city and for some reason the Spy Museum sounded the coolest so we went and to our surprise it wasn't as fantastic as we thought.  I guess I was expect to see some g0-go-gadget arms or something but it was we were bombarded with an insane amount of information that didn't hit our curious spots... Don't get me wrong, it had it's interesting moments, I just wanted more of it.

Claire outside the museum.

I want this key chain camera

and this camera watch

and this mini camera that takes pictures of documents of tiny sized film

But I really want this concealment ring

I will pass on the rectal spy kit though... (Yikes!)

I loved this though... Pigeon Spies! How cool is this!
This was my favorite part of the museum, seeing the photographs that the pigeons took
Ah, so amazing, you can see the birds' wings in the frame, it's so beautiful and the Pigeon has no clue what he did!

We watched old propaganda films for the public to watch and be reminded to keep their mouths shut with any sort of information.

Here is Claire in a chair (I forgot to mention, Claire hurt her foot the other night while running through Central Park, it's been a bummer having her in so much pain, say prayers she gets better soon).

Photograph of spies that have been caught

Propaganda posters (I thought this one looked like Darth Vadar SP?)
Gotta love this one... "She's not so dumb"

Well, after blogging about all of that I have realized I enjoyed the Spy Museum more than I thought.

We met up with Victor and his cousin on the city for dinner, I am still in shock over the cleanliness of DC, it's so beautiful, I think if I dropped candy on the ground here I would pick it up and maybe it eat... maybe?

The subway, Pretty cool.

At the apartment, Claire examines her purchases.

Once again, a fantastic day... Oh yeah, another good thing happened to me, while in line to buy ice-cream I was thinking to myself, "dang, this little scoop is not worth 6 bucks" and walla! the man in front of me gives me a coupon for ice-cream... 2 dollars off! How great is that?

Okay.

Night

Day 9: Bus to DC by Jessica Peterson

This morning Claire and I took a bus from New York to DC.  It was a really nice ride and I got a lot done (if a lot done is drawing and writing in my book).  This is the first time I have ever been to DC, I like it, I am enjoying the history and depth that the city holds.

Also, Claire and I have been practicing the "Secret", putting good vibes out into the Universe to let it know we are ready for good things to happen and luck to be on our side, and good news, it has been working! How and why you ask?  Here are a few examples of the beautiful things that have come our way...
-we were technically late for our bus this morning but made it seconds before it left!
-at the metro station we were in line to buy new passes and this man walks up to us and gives us 2 passes for free!!!
-we drank free hot cocoa tonight after being stuck outside in the cold
-we had pizza twice today (okay, maybe that doesn't seem like... but hey, I like it!)
okay, i guess that doesn't seem like much but these little things have been such a blessing.

Pictures of us on the bus...

In DC we met up with Claire's good friend Naomi, she introduced us to this great pizza place called 2 Amy, which was fantastic! (thank you Naomi)

Claire and Naomi being extremely gorgeous

And then we do something I absolutely love, eat treats.  Across the street from the pizza place was this adorable bakery called Something Sweet (I recommend it if you are in DC), the people were so nice and the cupcakes were so yummy.

Lemon cake! My favorite!

I fell in love with this little car, my favorite color!

Later on we met up with my friend Victor.  I have known Vic for over 10 years, he is the greatest, we have a special bond because evert one of our friends from the old days have all grown up and graduated to married-hood.  Oh Vic, you are the dearest!

I was so excited to see the sights, seeing them in the night atmosphere was so romantic.

Beautiful day, beautiful people, beautiful sights.

The Doll by Jessica Peterson

Does anyone remember this thing?
I don't know why but every time I see it, it screams at me to take a picture of it. It still creeps me out a bit,  I guess if something scares you, explore it until it doesn't anymore.

Day 8: loved ones by Jessica Peterson

Today was an exceptionally great day!

Diana and Jon are visiting New York from San Francisco and we met up with them for lunch and a show.

The table

 At lunch.
I had a chicken bone and cartilage enchilada (no joke, no good)
and then... we saw the taping of The Daily Show!  It was really great, especially because Matt Damon was the guest (did anyone see it?)

D, I love you! It was so great seeing you!

Later in the evening we head south to eat and play at Fat Cat (no, not the cheesy bowling place in Provo).  We had such a great dinner, we ate at this little American dive called Westville (Yummy) we shared mac and cheese for an app and I had a chicken salad sandwich that tasted like heaven.
This is Claire's first taxi ride.

At Fat Cat
we were posing as anime character, can't you tell.
Travis and I, we kinda look alike right?

I win sometimes.

Like I said it was a really great day.
We are hoppin' on a bus tomorrow morning and heading to DC!
I love long bus rides, it's a nice excuse to just think, stuck, quiet and the earth around you keeps moving. It should be great.

I just realized I wrote the word 'great' like 15 times, tomorrow I will find a new word, I promise.

Day 7: Eat, Sleep and walk by Jessica Peterson

Recappin'

-Red-eye flight, no good.  I couldn't sleep due to a mixture of the man in front of me  making snores like the flapping lips of a woopie cushion and the men on each of my sides claiming the arm rests. Wanted to pull my hair out.
-Claire was at the airport in NY to greet me.  Lovely.
-Slept the morning away on T's futon, catching up on lost sleep so not to be grumpy for the rest of the day.
-Shake Shack burger for this evenings meal, worth the hour long line (better than DisneyLand... maybe)
-Carrie comes to say hello, having friends in all of these places has been so much fun, it's like finding 2o dollar bills in couch cushions and old jeans, they are tucked away for a while but when found they are oh so great.
-walked and walked and sometimes we ate things.

before the greatest nap ever napped.

Me, Claire and Carrie.

Day 6: Already by Jessica Peterson

I am sitting in the airport in Phoenix.  I have 3 hours to kill before I take off to New York... Yay for Red-eye flights!

In in Out.  Yum.
Little Jimmy asleep in the back... so cute with his little monkeys.  I will miss him so much.

Trains... I am really bummed my camera batteries died and I wasn't able to take many more photos while driving from Tucson to Phoenix.

We spent the afternoon driving and driving in circles and loops, all going bonkers in the car looking for something to do or a park to play in.  We took a tour through Scottsdale and I will have to say it was a great little city... a little like LA or at least the people resembled LA (fake boobs and lips and all).  I liked it and will have to go back one day with more time.

I am looking forward to waking up tomorrow morning!
